Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work An architectural capriccio with Death of Ananias; and An architectural capriccio with David, Bathsheba and Solomon by Giovanni Paolo Panini was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 37,500.00 (€ 41,828.39). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giovanni Paolo Panini achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Rome, The Pantheon, A View Of The Interior Towards The Piazza Della Rotonda in January 2015 with an auction result of USD 5,317,000.00 (€ 4,709,477.41).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit An architectural capriccio with Death of Ananias; and An architectural capriccio with David, Bathsheba and Solomon von Giovanni Paolo Panini im Juli 2020 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 37.500,00 (€ 41.828,39) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Giovanni Paolo Panini erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Rome, The Pantheon, A View Of The Interior Towards The Piazza Della Rotonda im Januar 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.317.000,00 (€ 4.709.477,41).
