This artwork by Giorgio Morandi achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in May last year. In the Impressionist and Modern Works on Paper and Day Sale auction, the work Natura morta sold for USD 1,058,400.00 (€ 986,301.37) - well above the upper estimate of USD 600,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Giorgio Morandi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Natura morta, which sold at auction in May 2018 for USD 4,332,500.00 (€ 3,712,510.71).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 76 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Giorgio Morandi erzielte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Impressionist and Modern Works on Paper and Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Natura morta für USD 1.058.400,00 (€ 986.301,37) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 600.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Giorgio Morandi mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Natura morta beobachtet, die im Mai 2018 für USD 4.332.500,00 (€ 3.712.510,71) versteigert wurde.
