Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Natura morta by Giorgio Morandi was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in May this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 35,000.00 – 50,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 32,760.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giorgio Morandi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Natura morta in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 4,332,500.00 (€ 3,712,510.71).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Natura morta von Giorgio Morandi im Mai diesen Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 35.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 32.760,00 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Giorgio Morandi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Natura morta im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.332.500,00 (€ 3.712.510,71).
