Auction result well in line with expectations
In October this year Christies in New York held the auction Avant-Garde(s) Including Thinking Italian, which included the work Fiori by Giorgio Morandi. The price achieved of EUR 277,200.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 220,000.00 – 320,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giorgio Morandi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Natura morta in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 4,332,500.00 (€ 3,712,510.71).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Avant-Garde(s) Including Thinking Italian durch, in der auch die Arbeit Fiori von Giorgio Morandi zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 277.200,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 220.000,00 – 320.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Giorgio Morandi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Natura morta im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.332.500,00 (€ 3.712.510,71).
