Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Gifford Beal could be acquired at Bonhams in New York in November 2021 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Art auction, the work Riding the Elephant changed hands for USD 1,530.00 (€ 1,355.54) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gifford Beal achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Fish Houses, Winter Day in April 2015 with an auction result of USD 112,500.00 (€ 100,788.39).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Gifford Beal konnte im November 2021 bei Bonhams in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion American Art wechselte die Arbeit Riding the Elephant für USD 1.530,00 (€ 1.355,54) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gifford Beal erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Fish Houses, Winter Day im April 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 112.500,00 (€ 100.788,39).
