Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Gifford Beal achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in April 2011. In the American Paintings auction, the work Central Park sold for USD 15,000.00 (€ 10,120.77) - well above the upper estimate of USD 7,000.00. Admittedly, works by Gifford Beal have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Fish Houses, Winter Day in April 2015 with an auction result of USD 112,500.00 (€ 100,788.39).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Gifford Beal erzielte im April 2011 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion American Paintings wurde die Arbeit Central Park für USD 15.000,00 (€ 10.120,77) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 7.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gifford Beal auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Fish Houses, Winter Day im April 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 112.500,00 (€ 100.788,39).
