Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Summer Cottage by Gifford Beal was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in December 2011. The price achieved of USD 56,250.00 (€ 43,359.28) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gifford Beal - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Fish Houses, Winter Day, which sold at auction in April 2015 for USD 112,500.00 (€ 100,788.39).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Summer Cottage von Gifford Beal kam im Dezember 2011 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 56.250,00 (€ 43.359,28) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Gifford Beal mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Fish Houses, Winter Day beobachtet, die im April 2015 für USD 112.500,00 (€ 100.788,39) versteigert wurde.
