In May last year Christies in New York held the auction Impressionist and Modern Works on Paper and Day Sale, which included the work Pittore e modella by Giacomo Manzù. The »bidding war« ended at USD 47,880.00 (€ 44,618.40), 60% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giacomo Manzù achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Grande cardinale seduto in December 2000 with an auction result of GBP 421,750.00 (€ 671,843.98).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 60 % übertroffen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Impressionist and Modern Works on Paper and Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Pittore e modella von Giacomo Manzù zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 47.880,00 (€ 44.618,40) und damit 60% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Giacomo Manzù erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Grande cardinale seduto im Dezember 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 421.750,00 (€ 671.843,98).
