Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Cardinale by Giacomo Manzù was sold in the Impressionist and Modern Works on Paper and Day Sale auction at Christies in New York in May last year. Here, the upper estimate of USD 80,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 81,900.00 (€ 76,320.94). Admittedly, works by Giacomo Manzù have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Grande cardinale seduto in December 2000 with an auction result of GBP 421,750.00 (€ 671,843.98).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Cardinale von Giacomo Manzù wurde im Mai letzten Jahres in der Auktion Impressionist and Modern Works on Paper and Day Sale bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 80.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 81.900,00 (€ 76.320,94) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Giacomo Manzù auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Grande cardinale seduto im Dezember 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 421.750,00 (€ 671.843,98).
