Auction result misses estimated price range
When this work without title by Gerwald Rockenschaub was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in November 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 2,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gerwald Rockenschaub achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in April 2006 with an auction result of GBP 22,800.00 (€ 32,906.84).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Gerwald Rockenschaub im November 2019 bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 2.500,00 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gerwald Rockenschaub erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im April 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 22.800,00 (€ 32.906,84).
