This artwork by Gertrude Abercrombie achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in December 2017. In the First Open | Post-War & Contemporary Art auction, the work without title sold for USD 12,500.00 (€ 10,397.60) - well above the upper estimate of USD 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gertrude Abercrombie achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Giraffe in May 2021 with an auction result of USD 365,400.00 (€ 299,655.57).

In der Auktion First Open | Post-War & Contemporary Art wurde diese Arbeit ohne Titel für USD 12.500,00 (€ 10.397,60) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 7.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gertrude Abercrombie erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Giraffe im Mai 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 365.400,00 (€ 299.655,57).
