Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Dauphine, France by Germ de Jong was sold in the Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings auction at Christies in Amsterdam in September 2002. The price achieved of EUR 1,434.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 1,200.00 – 1,600.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Germ de Jong achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Stilleven Met Rooie Lap - A Still Life With Flowers And A Red Cloth in June 2001 with an auction result of NLG 32,900.00 (€ 15,813.28).
