Auction result well in line with expectations

The price achieved of EUR 5,377.50 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Germ de Jong - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Stilleven Met Rooie Lap - A Still Life With Flowers And A Red Cloth, which sold at auction in June 2001 for NLG 32,900.00 (€ 15,813.28).
