Auction result misses estimated price range

This work of art by George Wesley Bellows could be acquired at Christies in New York in November this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Graphic Century auction, the work The White Hope changed hands for USD 1,890.00 (€ 1,732.67) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Wesley Bellows achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Evening Swell in December 2013 with an auction result of USD 7,893,000.00 (€ 5,728,282.17).

Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne

Dieses Kunstwerk von George Wesley Bellows konnte im November diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Graphic Century wechselte die Arbeit The White Hope für USD 1.890,00 (€ 1.732,67) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Wesley Bellows erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Evening Swell im Dezember 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 7.893.000,00 (€ 5.728.282,17).
