Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Tournament (Tennis At Newport) by George Wesley Bellows was auctioned at Christies in New York in November this year. The price achieved of USD 2,520.00 (€ 2,310.23) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Wesley Bellows achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Evening Swell in December 2013 with an auction result of USD 7,893,000.00 (€ 5,728,282.17).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Tournament (Tennis At Newport) von George Wesley Bellows kam im November diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 2.520,00 (€ 2.310,23) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Wesley Bellows erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Evening Swell im Dezember 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 7.893.000,00 (€ 5.728.282,17).
