Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by George Wesley Bellows could be acquired at Christies in Sydney in August this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Tales of the City: New York Prints and Photographs of the Early 20th Century auction, the work The Pool-Player changed hands for USD 6,930.00 (€ 6,393.58) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Wesley Bellows achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Evening Swell in December 2013 with an auction result of USD 7,893,000.00 (€ 5,728,282.17).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von George Wesley Bellows konnte im August diesen Jahres bei Christies in Sydney für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Tales of the City: New York Prints and Photographs of the Early 20th Century wechselte die Arbeit The Pool-Player für USD 6.930,00 (€ 6.393,58) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 7.000,00 – 10.000,00. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Evening Swell im Dezember 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 7.893.000,00 (€ 5.728.282,17).
