Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Unique Side Table by George Nakashima was sold in the CONTEMPORARY LIVING – Photographs, Prints & Design auction at Sothebys in New York in July 2015. The price achieved of USD 5,250.00 (€ 4,760.61) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Nakashima achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Exceptional free-form “Minguren I” coffee table in May 2010 with an auction result of USD 86,500.00 (€ 69,932.90).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 5.250,00 (€ 4.760,61) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Nakashima erzielen.
