This artwork by George Nakashima achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in Hong Kong in November 2019. In the 20th Century & Contemporary Art & Design Day Sale auction, the work 'Conoid' dining table sold for HKD 137,500.00 (€ 15,947.45) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 70,000.00. Admittedly, works by George Nakashima have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Exceptional free-form “Minguren I” coffee table in May 2010 with an auction result of USD 86,500.00 (€ 69,932.90).

Dieses Kunstwerk von George Nakashima erzielte im November 2019 bei Phillips in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art & Design Day Sale wurde die Arbeit 'Conoid' dining table für HKD 137.500,00 (€ 15.947,45) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 70.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von George Nakashima auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Exceptional free-form “Minguren I” coffee table im Mai 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 86.500,00 (€ 69.932,90).
