This artwork by George Nakashima achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in July 2015. In the CONTEMPORARY LIVING – Photographs, Prints & Design auction, the work Sideboard sold for USD 27,500.00 (€ 24,936.53) - well above the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Nakashima - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Exceptional free-form “Minguren I” coffee table, which sold at auction in May 2010 for USD 86,500.00 (€ 69,932.90).

Dieses Kunstwerk von George Nakashima erzielte im Juli 2015 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion CONTEMPORARY LIVING – Photographs, Prints & Design wurde die Arbeit Sideboard für USD 27.500,00 (€ 24.936,53) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 15.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von George Nakashima mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Exceptional free-form “Minguren I” coffee table beobachtet, die im Mai 2010 für USD 86.500,00 (€ 69.932,90) versteigert wurde.
