Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Desk by George Nakashima was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in July 2015. The price achieved of USD 16,250.00 (€ 14,735.22) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Admittedly, works by George Nakashima have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Exceptional free-form “Minguren I” coffee table in May 2010 with an auction result of USD 86,500.00 (€ 69,932.90).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Desk von George Nakashima kam im Juli 2015 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 16.250,00 (€ 14.735,22) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von George Nakashima auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Exceptional free-form “Minguren I” coffee table im Mai 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 86.500,00 (€ 69.932,90).
