Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2014 a collector was able to acquire the work A Slight Pause by George Herms for USD 4,688.00 (€ 3,712.39). This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Curated featuring works from the Collection of Joni Gordon of Newspace Gallery at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Herms - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Song for Hope, which sold at auction in January 2011 for USD 18,750.00 (€ 13,671.16).

Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Contemporary Curated featuring works from the Collection of Joni Gordon of Newspace Gallery bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von George Herms mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Song for Hope beobachtet, die im Januar 2011 für USD 18.750,00 (€ 13.671,16) versteigert wurde.
