Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Gardar Eide Einarsson could be acquired at Phillips in New York in May 2016 for an unexpectedly low price. In the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction, the work Society Against the State changed hands for USD 8,125.00 (€ 7,296.81) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gardar Eide Einarsson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Greetings to Thieves, Male and Female, which sold at auction in October 2014 for GBP 17,500.00 (€ 22,344.97).
