Auction result well in line with expectations

The work Shield (Positive) by Gardar Eide Einarsson was sold in the First Open | Post-War & Contemporary Art auction at Christies in New York in July last year. The price achieved of USD 3,780.00 (€ 3,705.16) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Gardar Eide Einarsson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Greetings to Thieves, Male and Female in October 2014 with an auction result of GBP 17,500.00 (€ 22,344.97).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Die Arbeit Shield (Positive) von Gardar Eide Einarsson wurde im Juli letzten Jahres in der Auktion First Open | Post-War & Contemporary Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 3.780,00 (€ 3.705,16) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gardar Eide Einarsson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Greetings to Thieves, Male and Female im Oktober 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 17.500,00 (€ 22.344,97).
