The »bidding war« ended at USD 6,000.00 (€ 5,120.33), 20% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Gardar Eide Einarsson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Greetings to Thieves, Male and Female in October 2014 with an auction result of GBP 17,500.00 (€ 22,344.97).
