This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Art at Sothebys in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 7,000.00 many times over. Admittedly, works by Frederick Hammersley have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Ego I Go, #15 1975 in September last year with an auction result of USD 65,895.00 (€ 67,356.64).
