It achieved a price of USD 5,737.50 (€ 5,864.77), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 64%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frederick Hammersley achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ego I Go, #15 1975 in September last year with an auction result of USD 65,895.00 (€ 67,356.64).

Die Arbeit Understudy, #6-a 1949 von Frederick Hammersley wurde im September letzten Jahres in der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art X Made In California bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 5.737,50 (€ 5.864,77) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 64%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frederick Hammersley erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Ego I Go, #15 1975 im September letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 65.895,00 (€ 67.356,64).
