Auction result well in line with expectations
In September last year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art X Made In California, which included the work Fat free, #16 1987 by Frederick Hammersley. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 8,287.50 (€ 8,471.33) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Frederick Hammersley have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Ego I Go, #15 1975 in September last year with an auction result of USD 65,895.00 (€ 67,356.64).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art X Made In California durch, in der auch die Arbeit Fat free, #16 1987 von Frederick Hammersley zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 8.287,50 (€ 8.471,33) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Frederick Hammersley auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Ego I Go, #15 1975 im September letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 65.895,00 (€ 67.356,64).
