The work Biased #9, 1978 by Frederick Hammersley was sold in the Art of Collecting: A Pacific Island Connoisseur of Art and Design auction at Christies in New York in March this year. The »bidding war« ended at USD 47,880.00 (€ 44,039.74), 60% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Frederick Hammersley; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Ego I Go, #15 1975 sold at auction in September last year with the realized price of USD 65,895.00 (€ 67,356.64).

Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 47.880,00 (€ 44.039,74) und damit 60% über dem oberen Schätzpreis.
