Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2024 a collector was able to acquire the work Playground of Crockett Elementary School, where I attended grades 1-7 by Frank Gohlke for USD 640.00 (€ 559.34). This price was achieved in the auction Prints & Photographs at Bonhams in Skinner Boston and was even below the estimate range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frank Gohlke achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Selected Images in April 2010 with an auction result of USD 12,500.00 (€ 9,397.08).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Januar 2024 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Playground of Crockett Elementary School, where I attended grades 1-7 von Frank Gohlke für USD 640,00 (€ 559,34) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Prints & Photographs bei Bonhams in Skinner Boston erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 800,00 – 1.200,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frank Gohlke erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Selected Images im April 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 12.500,00 (€ 9.397,08).
