Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Frank Gohlke achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in January 2008. In the Photographs auction, the work Grain Elevator Shadows, Ensign, Kansas, 1973; Enid, Oklahoma, 1973; and Landscape, Minneapolis sold for USD 12,500.00 (€ 8,422.61) - well above the upper estimate of USD 6,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Frank Gohlke; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Selected Images sold at auction in April 2010 with the realized price of USD 12,500.00 (€ 9,397.08).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Frank Gohlke erzielte im Januar 2008 bei Phillips in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Photographs wurde die Arbeit Grain Elevator Shadows, Ensign, Kansas, 1973; Enid, Oklahoma, 1973; and Landscape, Minneapolis für USD 12.500,00 (€ 8.422,61) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 6.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Frank Gohlke; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Selected Images im April 2010 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 12.500,00 (€ 9.397,08).
