Auction result well in line with expectations
The work La Guardiana by Francisco Narváez was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in November 2018. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 87,500.00 (€ 77,276.34) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Francisco Narváez - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in May 2013 for USD 267,750.00 (€ 206,151.83).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit La Guardiana von Francisco Narváez kam im November 2018 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 87.500,00 (€ 77.276,34) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Francisco Narváez mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im Mai 2013 für USD 267.750,00 (€ 206.151,83) versteigert wurde.
