This artwork by Francis Bruguière achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in April 2008. In the The Quillan Collection of Nineteenth and Twentieth Century Photographs auction, the work Cut-Paper Abstraction sold for USD 56,200.00 (€ 36,099.69) - well above the upper estimate of USD 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Francis Bruguière - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Experiment, From 'The Way', C. 1925, which sold at auction in April 2013 for USD 123,750.00 (€ 93,977.83).
