In July 2013 Christies in London held the auction Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale, which included the work A shepherd with his flock and a woman feeding poultry in a village, with other figures resting by a cottage by Francesco da Ponte. The result of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 17,140.11) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Admittedly, works by Francesco da Ponte have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of a bearded gentleman, half-length, in a black doublet with a white collar in June last year with an auction result of USD 88,200.00 (€ 84,248.73).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Juli 2013 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit A shepherd with his flock and a woman feeding poultry in a village, with other figures resting by a cottage von Francesco da Ponte zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 15.000,00 (€ 17.140,11) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Francesco da Ponte auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait of a bearded gentleman, half-length, in a black doublet with a white collar im Juni letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 88.200,00 (€ 84.248,73).
