This artwork by Francesco da Ponte achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Milan in May 2008. In the Old Master Paintings auction, the work Adorazione Dei Pastori sold for EUR 26,650.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Francesco da Ponte - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait of a bearded gentleman, half-length, in a black doublet with a white collar, which sold at auction in June last year for USD 88,200.00 (€ 84,248.73).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Francesco da Ponte erzielte im Mai 2008 bei Sothebys in Mailand einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master Paintings wurde die Arbeit Adorazione Dei Pastori für EUR 26.650,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 15.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Francesco da Ponte mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Portrait of a bearded gentleman, half-length, in a black doublet with a white collar beobachtet, die im Juni letzten Jahres für USD 88.200,00 (€ 84.248,73) versteigert wurde.
