This artwork by Francesco da Ponte achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in July 2015. In the Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale auction, the work Portrait of a bearded gentleman, half-length, in a black doublet with a white collar sold for GBP 56,250.00 (€ 79,743.61) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 20,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Francesco da Ponte; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Portrait of a bearded gentleman, half-length, in a black doublet with a white collar sold at auction in June last year with the realized price of USD 88,200.00 (€ 84,248.73).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Francesco da Ponte erzielte im Juli 2015 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Portrait of a bearded gentleman, half-length, in a black doublet with a white collar für GBP 56.250,00 (€ 79.743,61) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 20.000,00.
