Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Kneeling Boy by Francesco da Ponte was sold in the The Jeffrey E. Horvitz Collection of Italian Drawings auction at Sothebys in New York in January 2008. The price achieved of USD 31,000.00 (€ 20,888.08) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Admittedly, works by Francesco da Ponte have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of a bearded gentleman, half-length, in a black doublet with a white collar in June last year with an auction result of USD 88,200.00 (€ 84,248.73).
