This artwork by Forrest Bess achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in May 2006. In the Post War and Contemporary Morning Session auction, the work without title sold for USD 84,000.00 (€ 65,456.25) - well above the upper estimate of USD 40,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Forrest Bess; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Untitled No. 6 sold at auction in November 2011 with the realized price of USD 112,900.00 (€ 83,921.80).
