Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Hong Kong Garden by Fiona Rae was auctioned at Sothebys in London in June 2017, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 8,125.00 (€ 9,252.86). Admittedly, works by Fiona Rae have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Figure 1i in February 2015 with an auction result of GBP 56,250.00 (€ 77,560.40).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Hong Kong Garden von Fiona Rae im Juni 2017 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 8.125,00 (€ 9.252,86) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Fiona Rae auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Figure 1i im Februar 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 56.250,00 (€ 77.560,40).
