The work Seated Figure (Maternité) by Felipe Castañeda was sold in the Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale auction at Sothebys in New York in May 2019. The »bidding war« ended at USD 20,000.00 (€ 17,938.83), 67% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Felipe Castañeda - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Maternity, which sold at auction in May 2008 for USD 91,000.00 (€ 58,483.29).

Die Arbeit Seated Figure (Maternité) von Felipe Castañeda wurde im Mai 2019 in der Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 20.000,00 (€ 17.938,83) und damit 67% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Felipe Castañeda mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Maternity beobachtet, die im Mai 2008 für USD 91.000,00 (€ 58.483,29) versteigert wurde.
