In May 2016 Sothebys in New York held the auction Latin America: Modern Art | Latin America: Contemporary Art, which included the work Woman Sitting by Felipe Castañeda. The result of USD 10,000.00 (€ 8,980.69) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Felipe Castañeda have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Maternity in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 91,000.00 (€ 58,483.29).

Im Mai 2016 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Latin America: Modern Art | Latin America: Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Woman Sitting von Felipe Castañeda zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 10.000,00 (€ 8.980,69) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Felipe Castañeda auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Maternity im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 91.000,00 (€ 58.483,29).
