In November 2016 Sothebys in New York held the auction Latin America: Modern Art | Latin America: Contemporary Art, which included the work La Juana by Felipe Castañeda. The result of USD 6,000.00 (€ 5,672.15) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Felipe Castañeda achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Maternity in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 91,000.00 (€ 58,483.29).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im November 2016 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Latin America: Modern Art | Latin America: Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit La Juana von Felipe Castañeda zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 6.000,00 (€ 5.672,15) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Felipe Castañeda erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Maternity im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 91.000,00 (€ 58.483,29).
