Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Hong Kong Slum by Fan Ho was sold in the Photographs auction at Phillips in London in October 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 8,750.00 (€ 10,149.37) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Fan Ho - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Approaching Shadow, 1954, which sold at auction in April 2018 for USD 47,500.00 (€ 39,340.73).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Hong Kong Slum von Fan Ho wurde im Oktober 2019 in der Auktion Photographs bei Phillips in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 8.750,00 (€ 10.149,37) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Fan Ho mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Approaching Shadow, 1954 beobachtet, die im April 2018 für USD 47.500,00 (€ 39.340,73) versteigert wurde.
