Auction result well in line with expectations
In July last year Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern Discoveries | Rare & Limited, which included the work Smokey Staircase by Fan Ho. It changed hands for a price of HKD 88,200.00 (€ 11,005.55) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of HKD 50,000.00 – 100,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Fan Ho - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Approaching Shadow, 1954, which sold at auction in April 2018 for USD 47,500.00 (€ 39,340.73).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern Discoveries | Rare & Limited durch, in der auch die Arbeit Smokey Staircase von Fan Ho zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von HKD 88.200,00 (€ 11.005,55) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 50.000,00 – 100.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Fan Ho mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Approaching Shadow, 1954 beobachtet, die im April 2018 für USD 47.500,00 (€ 39.340,73) versteigert wurde.
