This artwork by Ernesto Caivano achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in March 2012. In the First Open Post-War Contemporary Art auction, the work Losing It sold for USD 21,250.00 (€ 15,936.70) - well above the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Ernesto Caivano; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Birds and Waterfall (I-IV) sold at auction in November 2007 with the realized price of USD 39,400.00 (€ 26,824.62).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Ernesto Caivano erzielte im März 2012 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion First Open Post-War Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Losing It für USD 21.250,00 (€ 15.936,70) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 12.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Ernesto Caivano; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit The Birds and Waterfall (I-IV) im November 2007 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 39.400,00 (€ 26.824,62).
