Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Debris II by Ernesto Caivano was auctioned at Christies in New York in March 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 11,875.00 (€ 8,905.80). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ernesto Caivano - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Birds and Waterfall (I-IV), which sold at auction in November 2007 for USD 39,400.00 (€ 26,824.62).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Debris II von Ernesto Caivano im März 2012 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 11.875,00 (€ 8.905,80) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Ernesto Caivano mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Birds and Waterfall (I-IV) beobachtet, die im November 2007 für USD 39.400,00 (€ 26.824,62) versteigert wurde.
