In April 2004 Christies in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Decorative Frieze, 1930S by Eleanor Parke Custis. The »bidding war« ended at USD 6,572.50 (€ 3,327.85), 31% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Eleanor Parke Custis - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work On the Ways-Gloucester, which sold at auction in November last year for USD 7,012.50 (€ 6,793.08).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 31 % übertroffen
Im April 2004 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Decorative Frieze, 1930S von Eleanor Parke Custis zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 6.572,50 (€ 3.327,85) und damit 31% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Eleanor Parke Custis mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit On the Ways-Gloucester beobachtet, die im November letzten Jahres für USD 7.012,50 (€ 6.793,08) versteigert wurde.
