Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sails by Eleanor Parke Custis was sold in the Photographs auction at Bonhams in New York in April 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of USD 828.75 (€ 688.90) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Eleanor Parke Custis have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work On the Ways-Gloucester in November last year with an auction result of USD 7,012.50 (€ 6,793.08).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Sails von Eleanor Parke Custis wurde im April 2021 in der Auktion Photographs bei Bonhams in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 828,75 (€ 688,90) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Eleanor Parke Custis auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit On the Ways-Gloucester im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 7.012,50 (€ 6.793,08).
