Auction result well in line with expectations

In April 2011 Sothebys in New York held the auction Original Illustration Art from the Collections of Kendra and Allan Daniel, which included the work The Pied Piper by Eleanor Parke Custis. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 3,125.00 (€ 2,108.49) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Eleanor Parke Custis - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work On the Ways-Gloucester, which sold at auction in November last year for USD 7,012.50 (€ 6,793.08).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Im April 2011 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Original Illustration Art from the Collections of Kendra and Allan Daniel durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Pied Piper von Eleanor Parke Custis zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 3.125,00 (€ 2.108,49) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Eleanor Parke Custis mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit On the Ways-Gloucester beobachtet, die im November letzten Jahres für USD 7.012,50 (€ 6.793,08) versteigert wurde.
