Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Pelikan Tinte by El Lissitzky was sold in the Photographs auction at Sothebys in New York in April 2019. It changed hands for a price of USD 462,500.00 (€ 412,909.56) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 300,000.00 – 500,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by El Lissitzky - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Self-Portrait ('The Constructor'), which sold at auction in March 2019 for GBP 947,250.00 (€ 1,099,444.42).

Die Arbeit Pelikan Tinte von El Lissitzky wurde im April 2019 in der Auktion Photographs bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 462.500,00 (€ 412.909,56) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 300.000,00 – 500.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von El Lissitzky mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Self-Portrait ('The Constructor') beobachtet, die im März 2019 für GBP 947.250,00 (€ 1.099.444,42) versteigert wurde.
