Auction result misses estimated price range
In December 2020 a collector was able to acquire the work 'X Photogram' by Edward W. Quigley for USD 1,260.00 (€ 1,030.25). This price was achieved in the auction Photographs from the Ginny Williams Collection at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,500.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Edward W. Quigley have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Selected industrial abstractions, 1930s in February 2007 with an auction result of USD 6,000.00 (€ 4,535.15).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Dezember 2020 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit 'X Photogram' von Edward W. Quigley für USD 1.260,00 (€ 1.030,25) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Photographs from the Ginny Williams Collection bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Edward W. Quigley auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Selected industrial abstractions, 1930s im Februar 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 6.000,00 (€ 4.535,15).
